Go here for: For a luxe experience: Brilliant wine, cocktails, food and views in spades.
Everything about Guillaume and Bennelong bar whispers quiet luxury; there really is nothing like sitting beneath Jorn Utzon’s Opera House sails on sensually curved chocolate seats, sipping an impeccable vino and appreciating ‘that’ view.

And what a view. Sydney-siders often forget how amazing this part of town can be, especially by night. Forget the pretensions that can come with venues as lofty as this, the staff at Guillaume are as immaculate as the vista – generous and inviting. The bar is open early in the evening to accommodate pre-theatre crowds, but you don’t need to be a thespian fan to enjoy a drink.

If you’re a mad about wine, you’re in luck. Award winning sommelier John Clancy’s menu runs the gamut from the Barossa to Bordeaux and everywhere vine-worthy in between. If you in a more celebratory mood, Clancy’s list includes magnums of 1990 Dom Perignon. You know. Just in case.

Bennelong bar’s cocktail list is equally formidable. Try the house favourite, aromatically cinnamon-infused G.B or go for a more fragrant experience with Madam Butterfly – you’ll be singing arias in no time.

If get a bit peckish before curtain call, the tapas menu is a sure-fire hit. – Ranging from freshly shucked oysters, basil infused tuna with soy and mustard seed vinaigrette to Guillaume’s famous mini crab sandwiches with coriander mayonnaise.

Complete your Bennelong bar experience with a trip to the theatre or a stroll through the botanical gardens at dusk.
