Go here for: Cocktails at sunset in chic rooftop inner-city location.

Despite the interior bar feeling a little like part of a department store courtesy of Bing Lee below, Roofbar offers respite from the stresses of inner-city life, whether it be office politics or who really saw those Marc Jacob shoes on sale first. Escape outside onto the rooftop deck and enjoy watching the city at a slower pace.

The long, sloping bar churns out a popular selection of tap beers such as Asahi as well as reasonably priced wines, ranging from $20 to $100 a bottle. No highbrow sommelier selection here, Roofbar is more specifically geared at the trendy post-work crowd. And besides, it’s more about the cocktails.

Here you’ll find nuevo-classic selection of cocktails including the usual suspects including Mojitos, Caprioskas and a classic Martini. There are also a lady-killer combinations of cocktails with OPI nail varnish names like ‘I’d Rather Be In Jamaica’ and ‘Passion and ‘Paign’. Try Frost Bitten – Roofbar’s take on the Margherita: Pama pomegranate liqueur, Cuervo tequila, Cointreau, lime and cranberry. They also shake up a very respectable Lychee Cosmopolitan to boot. And with Cocktail night rendering cocktails $7.50 on Wednesday evenings, you can try a selection to work out your new post-work fave.

All inner city excursions lead to Roofbar: start with a spot of shopping on Pitt Street, chow down at Yum Cha in Sky Phoenix and then pop up the stairs for a cheeky cocktail. Carrie would be proud.
